Dear Maintainer,

For some reason, it seems that today’s upgrade changed some glyphs in the
console.
For example, ⚫ (U+26AB MEDIUM BLACK CIRCLE) is shown as a ⚰ (U+26B0 COFFIN) and
a ⚪ (U+26AA MEDIUM WHITE CIRCLE) is shown as a ⚫.

In Firefox, all is OK. Copying and pasting from an erroneous console is OK too
(I get the right glyphs even if they are shown wrong).

I noticed this as well. Specifically, the thumbs-up emoji (U+1F44D)
renders as a thumbs-down emoji.

Have either of you tried logging out and logging back in or restarting
your computer?

Fonts can display very badly when updated on a running system. This is
perhaps even more likely when the font has major changes like the
recent update of this emoji font. This kind of issue is one reason why
Fedora has strongly encouraged "offline" updates for a few years now.

No, I did not restart anything but it’s the first time I notice such a behaviour.

An emoji font has been updated but the glyphs I submitted are not emojis. Maybe the font has these glyphs too.

I strongly suspect that if you log out or restart your computer that
your terminal will start working correctly.

📡 (128225), which should display as a satellite antenna, now displays as a
bullhorn (128363).

While these are vaguely related in shape and purpose, it's surprising to
suddenly find that your internet uplink is via bullhorn.

Also, the pump emoji (128688) is sometimes appearing as the non-potable
water emoji (128689) after the upgrade, which is even more disconcerting
to see appear in your control panel.
