There was a new release at the end of September, but the developers are still labeling it as "pre alpha": https://discourse.imfreedom.org/t/pidgin-3-0-experimental-4-2-93-0-has-been-released/309 It actually uses gtk4 instead of gtk3. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
