All'epoca di ARPANET, precursore di internet, alcuni studenti e un
ricercatore dell'università Carnegie Mellon sensorizzano e mettono in
rete un distributore di bevande, così da poter controllare da remoto se
è carico e/o se è appena stato caricato (per sapere se sono fredde o
ancora calde).

Carina la chiosa finale:
«But back in 1982, when computers cost a million dollars and the ARPANET
was still the only game in town, Kazar said a world dominated by IoT
seemed like a far-off fantasy.

“There was a running joke about how your toaster was one day going to be
on the Internet,” he said. “People laughed at that.”»

beh, l' IoT realizza un noto sogno acaro: l' interfaccia colla macchina 
del caffè.. quindi non è sorprendente che si tratti di un distributore 
di bevande, che suppongo siano bevande caffeinate.. ;)

Beh, tecnicamente il sogno era "fa questo e quello; e pure il caffè" ;)

Trattavasi di marchio che qua in itali ha le iniziali C C.
Quindi sì: caffeina, con tanto tanto zucchero per ammazzare l'acido; e,
in passato, pure qualcos'altro. :D
