Yes! That's a horrible trend! But there is light in the tunnel. I read an
article some weeks ago about a professor in user interface design, and she said
that she is starting to get more and more consulting gigs from companies who
want to return to the glory of the button! This is the right move, especially in
cars.

In sweden, I have an old Renault, and I can control the radio fully only with
buttons, without having to look. This is safe. I do not understand the tesla
people. Must be very difficult to control settings having to swipe and push a
touch screen without taking your eyes off the road.

Much later, this was a 2010 320d. But it was fun and packed a bit of a punch
when accelerating. =)

I actually thought about an S500 for driving longer distances, but so far
haven't had the need. I have read they are supposedly very quiet. That would be
most, if not all, the reason for buying one since I do not like any noise when I
drive.

Back when I was in high school, my friend drove up to me, while I was
getting into my 65 Chevy Nova junker, all excited. He had just gotten a
used BMW 1600 and wanted to take me for a ride. I said "okay." I was
just a dumb kid that didn't care about cars and didn't see why he was so
excited. He took me for a nice ride on the twisty road in the area.
Beats the heck out of me where a high school kid learned to drive like
that. That guy was always smarter than the rest of us kids. I think he
was abused by his father. Perhaps that's the key.

My granddaughter's baby daddy was going to get a BMW from his uncle.
That never happened. It's just as well. There's not much point in giving
a kid like that a car like that. These days, he drives a new GTI. That's
just as well, it's much more practical, right?

Sometimes I wish that I was passionate enough about cars to actually get a
really nice one. Sadly I am not, so mostly the focus is to get me from
point A to point B.

But who knows... once I find my perfect plot for my fortress of solitude,
I will have to drive more often than now, since I'm currently a city
dweller (except for my fishing expeditions of course), and when I need to
drive more, I imagine that it could be smart to plonk down a couple of
10:s of thousands extra to get something nice, and something that can
actually drive on bad forest roads in winter with about 0.5 meters of snow
on them.

Quite a Brontosaurus right there! But I do have my doubts about the
quality. =/ I do not think they are built like old school kalaschnikovs
for some reason.

I mean they're Russian, right?

All 83 of those re-engineered Fiat horses are begging to be let walk!

I guess what it really fits is high ground clearance.
