Fuck this Black Friday shopping shit! It'll be a cold day in Hell before Yours Truly participates in such stupidity. Anybody here know about candle making? I looked on Amazon and they have bulk wax and various length wicks. It looks like the wax is chipped or shredded and you have to heat it up to turn it into a liquid and then place a wick in a container and stick the bottom metal piece down to the bottom with a sticky tape circle and then suspend the top of the wick with a metal bridge that goes across the top of the container. There are a couple different kinds of wax - bee's wax, soy wax and palm wax. Supposed to be cleaner burning than paraffin waxes. Even saw a YouTube were Crisco was used as candle wax. Any experts out there? -- Yours Truly, Sir Gregory Nadegda, kensi, Fran, Pandora » these are easily ignøred misandrists and anti-American, leftist liars.

The Appalachian Chateau is energy efficient in that all the light fixtures are fitted with LEDs. Lots of light and on the cheap but they sure don't produce any heat like the old incandescent bulbs. So, I've been using candles at night for light and to supplement the HVAC unit which is quite the energy hog. Heat pumps become inefficient below about 35 degrees. The stores are making TOO big a profit on selling candles so I decided I could kill two birds with one stone by making my own. I have lots of glass containers from burned-down-to-nothing-candles. All I need is some bulk wax, a stove container with pour spout, and some wicks and centering device and I can make my own on the cheap. I just love the warmth and the atmosphere candles impart to the interior of the cabin and my little 17- year-old who drops in from time to time loves them too. The only thing I have to be careful of is to not become distracted and forget to blow them all out before I retire for the night, even if candles in glass containers are generally pretty safe. -- Yours Truly, Sir Gregory Nadegda, kensi, Fran, Pandora » these are easily ignøred misandrists and anti-American, leftist liars.
