Daniel Pehoushek <pehoushek1@gmail.com> writes: > yes there are some novelties. > bob is fast with a slender linear memory profile. > bob is very nearly optimal on average > on random regular graphs. > > it bothers me that you think i should give up. I did not say you should give up, I suggested a way forward. Journals are open all year round, every year, and don't set arbitrary rules on what solvers should do. Haranguing the members of a conference committee will get you nowhere, whereas publishing is the gold standard by which work like yours is measured. What is bob's closest competition? What are the relative timings between bob and comparative solvers/counters? Or maybe bob's advantage is in the size of problem it can handle, or that it can count models for problems that pose challenges for others. Writing up what you have done to make these improvements is the most productive use of your time. > i have a truthful and righteous position. By all means spend the rest of your life arguing about a competition you may not even have entered. Do you even know if your submission was accepted? > bob is totally correct on model counting. > i have put over twenty years into bob. But not enough time in writing-up what you have done. If you know the field well enough, you will know what advances, if any, you ave made. The usual thing to do is to publish these in a paper. -- Ben.
