Okay so we have a thread about the 'worst' computer, but which computer is the 'Wurst'? I think with its rubber keys potentially feeling raw-sausage-alike then the Speccy must be in this category. Anyone agree / disagree?

Oric, surely. Each key is literally a tiny sausage.

As someone has pointed out, the C64 must be the Wurst computer because it can make realistic sausage colours.

Back in the good old days, if you'd said that the Speccy or C64 was the Wurst computer, you would have instantly had many people agreeing and disagreeing with you. I miss those days :-)

If you'd told me I would back then, I'd have laughed at you. But so do
I.

The only thing I can say to that is Wibble!

I've put a Manic Miner review on comp.sys.cbm (the VIC-20 version). If I'm inclined to properly review actual good new Speccy/ZX81/ZX80 games I'm going to be posting them here. So at least two of us will be keeping the spirit alive, eh? May be some others will join in as well?

Regards,

Shaun.

Hello!

The Speccy has highres-PAL Gfx. The Speccy was always a computer to
me... (going with TV_set resolution, lines per frame etc.)
AMIGA and else outlined the capabilities of the PAL System.

The most Kraut(Cabbage)-Computer is the Commodore C-64.... the most
Wurst-Computer is the the VC-20 Volkscomputer.
In Austrian (German... Bavarian) Language, when you say 'Wurst', it
means 'it doesnt matter', or 'who cares'.

Surely the VIC/VC-20 is the most 'Ficken' computer?

Someone is having a go at a proper FLAME WAR! #GetInvolved :-)

I'd better ask about getting a fire wall installed in case my computer gets too hot!

I don't think so. There is alot to praise to the Commodore's
8-bitter.... (me thinking to the SID and the VIC-II chip).

ZX80, XZ81 and Commodore's VC20 were cheaper computers, that's all
except that, that the C64 was more worth its (respectively Commodores)
high price ;-)

There can be no question as to the worst computer: It's the Aquarius.

The Aquarius was not only useless as computer, it was even useless as a
doorstop, as it wasn't heavy enough to stop a door.

Somewhere out there, somebody wakes up in the morning bright and breezy,
and then they remember that they designed the Aquarius.

What does this have to do with Sausages?

The C64 can compete with the Speccy. But the Speccy is having (english)
atmosphere.... origin games (only on ZX Spectrum 16/48K) and highres.

I disagree, of course.

1985 we saw the first usable BASIC on Atari's (Turbo-BASIC, by the
mighty Frank Ostrowski) .... 1983 with Simons Basic on Commodores...
and 1982 with the birth of the ZX-Spectrum.

finally getting round to reading here.

I Nommynate the Motorola D2 Kit. the 'operator' had to
build the two boards it used and unless a lot more $$ was spent
install them on cardboard pages in a loose leaf binder.
THEN get a 5V power supply somewhere, THEN learn Hexadecimal
because the initial programing and output was displayed via 4 7
segment displays.
Came with 128 bytes RAM, and there was room to add another 128 bytes
for a total of 256 bytes.
ANY programming achieved was via a 20 key hexadecimal keypad.
IF one wanted to have a video display and add more RAM or a regular
keyboard then it was time to Build a S100 box and start interfacing
S100 cards.
