Hello all,

Is there anywhere that houses a collection of Spectrum "demake" versions 
of later non-Spectrum games? You know, like Doom and stuff.

Like Doom. There's a Spectrum version of Doom (er, sort of) but Doom was 
first out on a newer machine.

They're generally known as "demakes".

I guess that's a "no" then. I'd be interested in a list like that too, 
although I get the feeling that the number which have actually been 
completed is vanishingly small in comparison to the ones that got as far 
as a one-level demo (if that) before the programmer got bored. It 
depends whether you count stuff like Minesweeper clones though.

As far as ports of full-scale releases from "bigger" platforms are 
concerned, the first ones to spring to mind are:
