DIVIDE ? ZX ATA? any other modern IDE mass storage device - could load old rom fom mass storge if it was replaced with ram no way to develop it as a coprocessor?

A word to the wise: posting a Usenet thread with a URL as the subject line is a phenomenally bad idea, as a lot of spam does this, hence many people have a kill filter to delete all such posts. I can only see this one because I'm on Google, not Usenet as usual.

There are a lot of people who block news posts that come from Google groups as most are tending toward spam or clueless idiots whoc don't know their usenet from their arese.
