As previously mentioned in the Oxmeet thread, we really should have a
meetup at the Baron Of Beef in Cambridge, famed venue of the rumoured
fist fight between Clive Sinclair and Chris Curry.

I'm thinking mid-late November, as that's not too close to either Replay
Expo or Christmas, but add your preferred dates here:

Jolly good idea! Especially as I've just read on WoS that the Baron of
Beef is *definitely* closing down soon.[*] :D

Righto - it looks like we have one day emerging as the clear favourite,
so I hereby declare that the Baron Of Beef Rolled-up-newspaper-fight
Memorial CSS Meetup will happen on...

*** Saturday 22nd October 2011 ***

Usual routine - arrive around 2pm (or later), look for the table of
obvious Spectrum geeks, buy beer, discuss Spectrums, internet transport
protocols, advanced Sabre Wulf tactics and the precise meaning of the
lyric "there are scratches all around the coin slot, like a heartbeat,
baby, trying to wake up". See you there!

I have a feeling I probably won't make this after all. Cambridge really is
an arse to get to from here. I'd be spending 5 hours of Saturday on trains
if everything went perfectly, which it won't because there are always
weekend engineering works around London.

Eq.
