This is a terrible thing to say.

Who wants to drink beer in Oxford? I suggest Saturday 1 October.

If enough people turn up for long enough, we will go for dinner later.
Bringing any piece of interesting modern/retro stuff is desirable as
always, but if you just want to come and bitch about how you could never
get past that two-levelled gun thing in Exolon then you will be equally
welcome.

Ah go on then.

We really should have a meetup at the Baron Of Beef in Cambridge some
time, just for posterity. I guess we'd want to pick a date that's not
too close to either http://www.replayexpo.com/ or the rumoured Speccy
30th anniversary event being organised in London, though...

I *think* I know what you're talking about, although I'm sure it's
been more than 15 years since I touched Exolon on an actual
Speccy..... - can I do the bitching over the Internet? :)

Not sure if anything has come of this, but I'm afraid I won't be able to
make next weekend after all :-(

I am going to Glasgow on Thursday 29th September
so may not be able to come to Oxford on the 1st October
as not got a load of money
but I do have a ZON-X ZX81 sound module with manual
that I haven't even unpackaged or tested yet since I bought it off
ebay a while ago

perhaps we could have a meet up North in Blackburn where I am opening
a shop
on December 3rd to celebrate the 30th Anniversary year of the ZX81, my
first computer

When I go to Glasgow I am going to watch a band, GoGoBot, who are
playing a set
in the Apple Store on Buchanan Street
how times change
I'll be enquiring about iPads having already sent a 'situations
wanted' letter to the manager
I will ring him on Wednesday before I go
anyone in Glasgow, the set starts at 7pm this Thursday
I will be wearing light green chinos, brown suit jacket and purple t-
shirt
I will have a Scotland World Cup 1982 jumper with me in an Infinities
blue bag

Unpack it ;-D we have in the ZX-81 world a modified version of Sergey
Bulba's PT3 player that runs on ZX-81 and maintains a full-screen display.

Have a look here
http://www.rwapservices.co.uk/ZX80_ZX81/forums/aye-aye-t528s180.html
about half way down the page, post by Siggi, he's wront a simple user
interface to allow loading, playing pausing of PT3 files

Can't make the meet, but will try to make the next one (if it's near enough)

Andy

Cancelled 'cause it seems nobody is going to turn up :)

Sorry I didn't make this clear earlier but my computer with Usenet access
had a dead power supply which has only just been fixed.
