I'm looking forward to all of those un-boxing videos on the YouTubes. It'll be EPIC. RCL will finally have the last laugh. Or something.

There are eight of > 'em up on eBay already. I think I read only 36 had been confirmed to be delivered (and they are all apparently shoddy prototypes). So about 20% of all Vega+s are on eBay. Personally I would have waited for it to have boiled over and then stuck it on eBay as a L@@K R@RE Sinclair ZX Vega+ - Early Vega+, only ~36 made, genuinely rare item. And then sat back and watched the nutters overbid for it. As a weird piece of history, in future times this might be a sought-after item. But when they've just delivered some and nobody _really_ knows for sure* if they will deliver more, and the 2nd hand market is "flooded" with them? Nah. You'll be lucky to make back what you paid for it. Chris * OK, we do know: they won't unless forced to do so, and if they do they will still be shoddy prototypes, except this time with the Sinclair logo scratched out. -- Tw: @AwakeInBeds (Get with the future, people, it's 1987!) +---------------------------------------------+ | Unsatisfactory Software @_unsatisfactory | | http://www.unsatisfactorysoftware.co.uk | | Your Sinclair: A Celebration @YourSinclair | +-- http://www.yoursinclair.co.uk ------------+ DISCLAIMER: I may be making all this stuff up again.

Fact is, apart from the buttons and the shoddy case edges... and the easily-scratched screen cover... and, er... where was I going with this? Oh yeah... the actual internals do seem to *work*. More or less. The imperfections are probably fixable. Which isn't much consolation if you've waited two years for one and it's turned out to be a load of shoddy old junk, but in ten years' time it might be quite a desirable bit of retro kit itself. I almost wish I'd backed it, actually. Almost. -- Duncan Snowden.

Yep. It looks like they've started developing it and run out of money. So you've basically got a Spectrum in a cardboard box which somebody has drawn buttons on.
