I thought they were claiming they were at the stage of having one of the 
new production case mouldings?

If so then why are they still showing off glued together prototypes?

Having studied the introduction of new stuff it isn't easy. The chosen company in Hampshire already makes Bluetooth keyboards with the same slider switches and pairing mechanism so a 40-key device should be simple although they have had to solve the key release as well. Volume production can only come from China. Only then will the fine detail be apparent.

It is a working prototype which impressed me. 
I am amused that Amstrad and Sinclair never saw this simple International opportunity and even more amused that the BBC have entered the fray with a million Micro Bit computers for schools. However unlike the ZX Vega or the Micro Bit the Bluetooth keyboard is just a tablet or TV accessory.

Not for me yet.

That bloke's always been a bit of an arse, but at least it's more or
less positive (in that he seems to be going for the "crap in a funky
skillo kind of way" angle).

emulator app on mobile phones.

The free companion App has not been released yet but I imagine it's as good as Elite's games running on an iPad.
There is a short PAUSE command at the end of the video.

Another New York magazine is Engadget which has a main article on the Recreated ZX Spectrum on the landing page.
