Oh all right.....
Some people may not regard me as regular but a post every 5 or 6 year is
regular.... just not frequent.

While clearing the loft a couple of weeks ago I came across an interface
2 clone and a couple of games still in box... Jetpac and Planetoids.
I have just looked on Ebay to see what they are worth. Holy crap! I
really need to get back to scouring car boot sales.
Also managed to find White Lightning Forth that I was given a looong
time ago and never quite got to grips with. Anyone used White Lightning
Forth for the speccy?

Andy

Not the White Lightning one, but I did have their Laser Basic (the one Ocean
released). I did knock up a few programs with it and a 'part one' of a frankly
terrible game that will never see the light! It will sit here on my PC never to
see the light of day!

What made me laugh was the 'compiler' that came with it, that really did no
compiling whatsoever!

I suggest you release it at night, anonymously, while wearing a mask, into
the CSSCGC.

Yet it still manages to be terrible. Sounds like a winner!

A terrible game with effort obviously spent on it is often more likely
to win than an atrocious game knocked up in half an hour.

It depends on the judge, but the universal law is something like:

effort 1
------ x crap x ------------
 time factor year written

The last value there is to symbolise that old crap that was written at
a time when the author was trying to write something good, often
results in something unimaginably worse than when the author is trying
to create something bad.

Oh I know, I co-wrote the rules all those years ago. Trust me, it's not bad
enough to enter into the CGC!

Then make it worse!

You're telling us to put more effort in, but the only person I see not

<sniggers like Muttley>

In fact, I was never here....

<chortles like Terry Scott as the schoolboy in the old CurlyWurly adverts>

After years of playing Speccy games on my android phone and tablet via
Marvin, I actually pulled out my old rubber key speccy and fired it up
but I then discovered that I didn't have a cassette recorder so back to
Marvin on the android to play The Bard's Tale.
