Back in 1990, Codemasters and their Inventors Richard and David Darling obtained a patent for a hardware device that would give you infinite lives on Spectrum and Commodore games. https://www.google.com/patents/EP0402067B1?cl=en&dq=%22zx+spectrum%22&hl=en&sa=X&ei=eVeJUumlAqv07AaqqYDIAQ&ved=0CE4Q6AEwAw It enables address contents to be altered. Automatic POKES in other words. A hardware version of Gerard Sweeney if you like. The patent even has assembly language examples of lap counters and sprite delays which may be altered to make games more exciting or easier for fumblers like me. There are some Sinclair Patents on Google Patents also. -- G.

Third time lucky. I was actually saying that there were a number of copycat devices for the Speccy. There as a program for Multiface that was supposed to find these pokes etc. Brian -- From the Sofa of Brian Gaff Reply address is active "Geoff Wearmouth" <gwearmouth@gmail.com> wrote in message news:d67473b2-3143-4627-a196-bd945cc0961f@googlegroups.com... > > Back in 1990, Codemasters and their Inventors Richard and David Darling > obtained a patent for a hardware device that would give you infinite lives > on Spectrum and Commodore games. > > https://www.google.com/patents/EP0402067B1?cl=en&dq=%22zx+spectrum%22&hl=en&sa=X&ei=eVeJUumlAqv07AaqqYDIAQ&ved=0CE4Q6AEwAw > > It enables address contents to be altered. Best regards from Italy, dott. Piergiorgio.
