There is an incredible 30-minute video from the East Anglian Film
Archive

showing Clive Sinclair in 1981. Great footage showing 6 King's Parade
- a Lunn Poly travel office on the ground floor.
Clive getting into his car (Lotus?) and Jim Westwood working on the
ZX80.

One scene shows thousands of ZX80 cases stacked next to the girls
assembling them. If they only knew the prices their work would fetch
in their lifetimes.

Afterwards, I was googling Crispin Sinclair and found this funny nugget  
 from three years ago:

"The owner of the property, Crispin Sinclair, is offering a Sinclair C5 -  
a collector's item with something of a cult status - to the tenant that  
signs up to take on his office at Unit 35, Camperdown Street in Dundee's  
increasingly popular dockside area. Crispin is the son of Sir Clive  
Sinclair, the renowned inventor of the ZX80 and ZX Spectrum home computers  
and, of course, the C5 electric car."

I'd have thought now was the time to relaunch the vehicle. After all all 
those solar panels folk are putting on their rooves  will be useless after 
the government reduces the subsidy.

Well, it's sort of happened. A friend lives in Watford, and a few of the  
parking spaces near his flat have chargers for electric cars.

I rather doubt they are C5-compatible.

Porsche. 924 I think, given the date. The “cheap” Porsche of its day;
the equivalent now would be the Boxter. As the narration said, it
fits with his obsession with design. Interestingly enough, it was
orignially intended to be sold as a Volkswagen, and although VW pulled
out of the project quite early on, it still had a lot of VAG parts,
including an Audi engine. Which is quite a Sinclair way of going about
things, I suppose, keeping costs down.

A Lotus would have been appropriate too, though. I've always felt
Sinclair and Colin Chapman were very similar characters, in both their
engineering and business sensibilities.

Terrific piece of history, that. Strange to see what looks like the
final design for the pocket TV on his desk long before it was actually
released: not even a passing mention of the '81, Spectrum, or QL.
