Now, after reading that article, I *really* want one and *really* wish I'd learned Forth. Bit late for the latter now, although I might have a nose around t'interwebs and see what's what. The trouble with the Ace - apart from the obvious: mono graphics after the Spectrum came out, low memory (even if it “didn't need it”), rubbishy ZX80-style case, etc. - was that despite the designers' genius in getting a compiled, library-based language to work on cassette storage, it was still a bit of a kludge. If they'd waited a couple of years and used a more traditional implementation of the language on floppies it might have been a different story. -- Duncan Snowden.
