I use Handbrake regularly. It won't rotate video frames, AFAIK.

The original question was to rotate videos, not individual frames /
sets of frames within a video.

Handbrake will rotate the whole video, but it's not needed since
'Quicktime X' can easily do it anyway and already comes free with the
macOS.

Actually, Quicktime X requires a license, which I purchased a while ago. It
will run w/o a license but the full editing features are disabled until you
buy the "pro" license. I never tried to rotate a video on the free version.
Does it work?

There is no purchased licence for QuickTime X. You probably have a
licence for QuickTime 7 Pro, which works with the QuickTime Player 7
application. Apple stopped selling QuickTime Pro many years ago but I
haven't spotted exactly when: Wikipedia says mid 2016, and I found other
references from late 2016 saying it was no longer available.

https://support.apple.com/HT201691

See in particular the last section, which mentions QuickTime X and its
lack of registration keys.

QuickTime Player X was introduced in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard in
August 2009. At that point, QuickTime Player 7 was pushed into the
Utilities folder. Since then, QuickTime Player 7 has been left to
stagnate, apart from minor updates during the Snow Leopard era (version
7.6.6 still works on High Sierra and can still be downloaded, but is
limited in features if you don't already have a QuickTime 7 Pro licence
key).

I got my QuickTime 7 Pro licence key shortly after QuickTime 7 was
introduced (April 2005, with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger).

> I never tried to rotate a video on the free version. Does it work?

The free version of QuickTime Player 7 does not have any editing
features.

I just tried rotating an MP4 video with QuickTime Player X 10.4 in macOS
10.13.5 and it worked. Resaving it took a while as it rotated each video
frame.

QuickTime Player X wasn't able to rotate an older MP4 video I tried
(rotate left didn't change it at all apart from marking the document as
edited), so whether it works may depend on the specific details of the
video format.

This is undoubtedly a hobby of Sockboy's. Gee, imagine Sockboy trying to pin his nonsense on others, no one has ever seen that before. When I got here, I wanted to be unprejudiced and impartial. I gave Sockboy more than a reasonable person should. He is as incompetent as Sockboy.

Why do you keep repeating yourself? Steve Carroll just wiped the floor with Sockboy.

Already moved on from that. You are too slow!

Over and over, the surface request is he wants to "talk tech", but the guy spends most of his time whining about "Ubuntu".

Nothing above is accurate. There is no license for Quicktime X, never
has been, and you did not buy one and there are no features in QuickTime
X that are disabled nor any such thing as a Pro license.

You are confusing the deprecated (and soon obsolete) QuickTime 7.

It's an old app that is not a 64-bit compatible app so isn't
"optimized" for macOS Mojave (10.14). Under the up-coming macOS, apps
that are not 64-bit won't run "as efficiently" (according to Apple) and
in some future version of the OS support for such old apps will be
dropped.

You could of course still run it in an emulator / virtualisation app
(assuming someone makes one) running an older OS version.

Technically Quicktime 7 is already "obsolete" since it's been replaced
by Quicktime X and won't ever be updated, but some people still prefer
the old version due to some of the functionailty it has (in registerd
'Pro' mode) which is not available in Quicktime X.

Can you stop seeking for my attention?

max headroom pwns Meat in every way possible. You do, of course realize that the massive floods ending up in multiple groups started out as a joke about hacking Google. Being decentralized as it is, the email infrastructure will never go away but it'll never be common for the general user. The whole farce is packed of goofy inconsistencies and counts heavily on Meat's 'master's degree' gag. No no hell no. Meat never agreed to stop accusing good people of being like him. He lied about his trolling just as you would expect. No one here has ever read my code, much less found a bug; still, in my auxiliary brain, I'm thinking, "What if this is not my best work?". I am more honest with myself than Meat is.

It is 32 bit and relies on 32 bit libraries and APIs that will be
removed in 10.15.

It's been replaced by QuickTime X, which happened many years ago.

Despite the name, QuickTime X does not use the QuickTime libraries.

I thought the "64 to 32 bit" thread indicated that 32-bit applications
wouldn't go away they would just make the OS operate "less efficiently".

32-bit apps aren't "optimised", so they (and/or the OS) may run "less
efficiently" in macOS 10.14 'Mojave' released later this year. Most
users and most apps may not even notice any difference.

Reportedly 32-bit apps will not run at all in macOS 10.15, due for
release towards the end of next year.

But it remains to be seen exactly what will and won't happen as those
versions of macOS are actually released and used in real-world settings.

It has been reported as being announced at WWDC. ;-)
I don't know about you, but I wasn't there to hear it myself and
haven't watched the entire Keynote video.

But what actually happens between now and the release of macOS 10.15
could be very different.

It's announced around 20 minute mark, but they don't reference any
document. The speakers says Mojave "is the last macOS release to support
32 bits at all".

Yes, it's been said at WWDC, but plans can and do change.
