compliance tools apparently to all ts customers.

Aparently, you can downalod all yor data ans see all the data that Apple

How to request a copy of your data

Sign in to your Apple ID account page on a Mac, PC, or iPad. Then scroll
down to Data and Privacy and select "Manage your data." On the following
page, select "Get started" under "Get a copy of your data." If you don’t
see this option, it means that this feature is not available in your
country or region.

The last sentence is the important one. (aka: not available in Canada)

I'm in Chicago and that option isn't there either.

Probably something they just rolled out and isn't completely ready.

I’ll go out on a limb and suggest that this particular ‘feature’ will
be available only in European Union countries for the foreseeable future.

Hmm. Officially, Martinique etc. are full-on Departments of the Republic of
France, and Aruba etc. are ‘constituent countries’ of the Kingdom of the
Netherlands. I suspect that this makes them parts of the EU for GDPR
purposes. The Turks & Caicos etc are ‘British Overseas Territories’ so
I’m not sure if that counts, and, besides, Brexit. Anyone want to take a
Caribbean cruise and find out how Apple has ruled?

I wonder why they're limiting it like this. While the US doesn't require
GDPR conformance, what's the harm in providing it to everyone? Making a
service location-dependent is harder than just implementing it
consistently for everyone.

The only justification I can think of is that it will reduce customer
service overhead, since they won't get calls about this from non-EU
customers.

An outfits other than Apple where the customer is the product would
undoubtedly want to limit this wherever it can. But for Apple who
markets itself as being pro-privacy, it would be a marketing advantage
to enable it for all their customers.

Considering this appears to require human intercvention (since it takes
days to get your data, and they need to *really* authenticate you, I
suspect Apple needs to limit the new workload. Whether this is just a
"Ramp up" where it will be opened to more and more countries, or whether
Apple will only enable it where legally required remains to be seen.

Steve 'The Flooder' Carroll claims to be the System76-guru, let us see him put up an example minus the normalization loops. It won't matter because the FROM line on a post does not matter, it's the content that counts. Don't get too egotistical, Steve 'The Flooder' Carroll, sometimes "your socks" are just that. Thanks to Steve 'The Flooder' Carroll and his 'buddies' you now need an IP filtering system (which I set up for slrn and Windows Mail). Trust me, by and large I stopped giving him what he's asked for (even though I want to). If Jeff Relf and others start up with him again I will feel compelled to... as that is just my way. I am referring to real posters here, not drive by loons, who he largely controls. After yesterday's update I no longer want to gouge out my eyeballs from the flicker of the screen. System76 is based on Linux. End of Story.

Do you have a Network+ certification? I suspect we have two different beliefs for a good reason.

Now that nobody is talking to Steve Petruzzellis, he's making it sound like he's outsmarted us all -- when in fact, people are just not playing his game anymore.

Does The Underground Marshmallow Person believe the lies Steve Petruzzellis is posting? I won't ask Steve Petruzzellis how any part of The Underground Marshmallow Person's body tastes no matter how regularly Steve Petruzzellis kisses it.

Steve Petruzzellis is the upshot of the reality that Trotskyites have been hired to be in charge of schooling young persons. It's not chance that he is a witless socialist. The content clearly is a bunch of randomized bullshit. We know what that means.

Rambling cretin. Oh my! Right, Steve Petruzzellis is seeking to retail an XML reference, which anyone can get in seconds. If he could stop being so screwed up he'd get how screwed up he appears ;)
