Please define "ARM ARCHITECTURE". It does not state a license to use the ARM instruction set. Here is a hint: ARM Inc engineeres managed to design logica that greatly reduced power consumption. This is what has made the ARM architecture so attractive for modern portable devices. There is more to an architecture than just the name given to each opcode in the instruction set and what arguments they take. If you think Apple ditched everything but the instruction set, you are mistaken. Just because they are the ones to design the actual chip and where each transistor/diode goes does not mean that they ignore higher level designs that come with the architecture.
