#70604 — Spontaneous reboot during AirPlay

SubjectSpontaneous reboot during AirPlay

A few times over the last few months my iMac has rebooted for no
apparent reason. This has occurred while using AirPlay to the AppleTV.

Nothing in the Console logs explains it (in an obvious way).

You're not seeing any of this?

| OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts...
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200553

Kernel panics are not easy to interpret. Generally you'll need a
second machine -

https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/technotes/tn2004/tn2118.html

If you're not getting any panic data logged, you can try dumping
them directly to the screen -

sudo nvram boot-args="debug=0x0100"

But, these data may not be very useful on their own. Other than
perhaps to send a photo of them to Apple, heh.

And, some OSX versions will do this simply from booting in the
verbose mode, but I can't recall which ones.
