Nope. I've understood what you've written, and I can't read your mind
to figure out what you meant.

Really? That's a problem for you, is it?

Well since you decided my suggestion wasn't going to work (because
apparently you have to purchase software to install it with Crossover,
but not with Parallels, VMWare, Virtual Box or Boot Camp)...

...I don't think I'll bother explaining how you could get what you want
done, done.

Yup; I don't have a DVD/CD drive.

Now shall we drop it?

And you can't find a friend with a drive who could create an ISO image
file for you?

Because you've GOT CrossOver, right twit girl?

You KNOW that it can install from a disk image, right?

"Send me the disk. I'll do an ISO, upload it to a dropbox like site
and give you the URL."

And, because you don't like me and will automatically refuse any and
all help and aid I offered, imagine that suggestion came from someone
you *do* like. I'm sure there must be someone out there.

Or you could always buy a PC for less than the cost of the original
CD or a Windows licence and learn how too do it yourself. It's not
rocket science and there are experts [and expert professionals like
me] who would help you learn how to run a Win-box. Just, not me. Not
at any price.

No shit. To say nothing of dumping massive amounts of tedium
upon a thread that does have a few useful articles in it.

since chromebooks do not run windows and the app requires windows, it
isn't going to work.

Thanks. In that case, perhaps an el cheapo Windows computer.

VMware Fusion or Parallels Desktop would be a much better investment,
IMHO.

But she doesn't have a cd drive.
Not one of the hundreds of Apple PCs she has ever bought has ever had
a CD drive.
So she *still* can't get the software onto her machines.
And here was I thinking she was clever.

I've downloaded a lot of torrents for software I already own (or cracks
for software I accidentally bought with copy-protection bullshit). Never
had a problem, but I never open the fake .rars some people enclose with
(windows) virus loads.

Given that you blurt out so many wrong and stupid things... ...it's

I'e just done a course on malware and I really wouldn't recommend
downloading anything-Windows from anywhere but the proper outlets.
An apparently common trick is to repackage the installer with nasties.

Borrow one for a CD/DVD to USB transfer? But optical USB drives were
pretty cheap last time I looked, 25 bucks or so.

They do that with Mac pirate software too (or simply say it is an
application when it's really just malware). They also take legitimate
"trial" versions and add malware, which people then download. Best to
always get your downloads from a recognised source, if not the
developers own website.

You could try Windoze PCs at your local public library or Internet cafe
... but many of those places won't let you use removeable media due to
malware worries.

As we discussed quite recently in these news groups, CNET does exactly
that - they repackage installers to add toolbars and ad-ware to
them. I recommend avoiding CNET at all costs.
