I've been running OS 10.9.4 for several hours on a MacBook Pro with no
surprises. No idea what the new features are, but the standard stuff seems to
have survived :-)

Well, both that there is a 10.9.4 and that it's called Yosemity are
big surprises here.

That someone under NDA (or perhaps not!) makes such a statement: Not
such a surprise.

I'm part of the PUBLIC beta test. What NDA?

I'm a little confused. Yosemite has not been released to the public
beta group yet according to everything I've read, only developers.

Ah, I missed that. That would explain why he doesn't know about the
NDA--stolen software doesn't come with an NDA!

Aw, he's doing OK. The only thing he has disclosed so far is that he's
not a reader, ergo he's not a speller!

Perhaps his reading comprehension is lacking, since Yosemite is not
10.9.4. That's still Mavericks.

10.9.4 is not Yosemite; it's an upgrade of Mavericks.

10.9.4 is not Yosemite.

Aha, I see that now -- it's just the next Mavericks increment. Since Apple
releases rarely (never?) use names, and Yosemite was the next thing announced,
I just assumed ... My bad.

There is a little problem here, if you aren't running the *Yosemite*
Beta, what are you running. I currently have *Mavericks* OSX 10.9.3
running on my Mac, and there is no update available for 10.9.3, so no
OSX 10.9.4 available as a release yet.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1295663/FileChute/screenshot_747.jpg

What you have is the Thursday pre-release of OSX 10.9.4 Beta a
*Mavericks* proposed maintenance build prior to the release of
*Yosemite*. Again this was issued to developers and had the
accompanying NDA.

10.9.4 is available for anyone who signed up for pre-releases. They
released it to the masses a couple of days ago. It's been on the
developer pages since 10.9.3 came out.

So, since I didn't sign up for pre-releases, I don't have 10.9.4 beta,
which is not an update or final release available, and I will just have
to wait for the final release of 10.9.4 to come knocking sometime
before the final release of Yosemite, or 10.10.

Yes. It is expected to be done around the end of July (well, based on
nothing but rumors). Yosemite will probably be out in October (based on
previous releases).

I haven't been keeping up on 10.9.4, so I don't know what changes or
fixes are slated for it.

I was wrong previously, 10.9.4 was seeded to developers *before* 10.9.3
was released to users.
