My Original HD ( 160Gb ) lasted about 7 years, and then it started expressing an 'Invalid Node Structure' a few times too many. It started off fixable, but then less so as it came up again and again.
The Curious thing is; The MacBook worked fine right up until ( each time ) it crashed.
i had an Apple Genius run a full diagnostic on it, and it turned out to have a bad section 9 and about 700 assorted errors.
So i decided to get a new HD.
A 250Gb one from Amazon, but whoever sent it, sent the wrong one, which i didn't discover until i showed it to some guys at a local computer shack that were going to install it. ( Apple wouldn't - they didn't have a HD for my old Mac, and they wouldn't install a 3rd Party Unit )
Everyone was telling me that it would be Easy to do myself, but i've had some experience with Nerds telling me that something would be easy.
'If you know how to do something, It's the Easiest thing in the World, But if You Don't know how to do it, It's Impossible.'
From watching some YouTube Videos of this Process; i decided that not only would i have to buy an $80 Set of Custom T Wrenches that i would use once, But more importantly, i would need to Troubleshoot any Complications, which i clearly couldn't do; So that's why i took it to somewhere else to get them to install it.
So instead of coming back when i straightened The Messed up Delivery out; i bought a 500Gb Unit from them.
All Installed, Seems to work - But.
But when i run a Disk Utility / Verify Disk Routine on it;
This comes up.
Verifying volume “Cheese&Bologna” ( Replaced CheeseCake )
Performing live verification.
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Checking extents overflow file.
Checking catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking catalog hierarchy.
Checking extended attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.

Then it Stops.
It doesn't report any Errors, but it doesn't end with the Usual
'Everything seems to be OK.'
or whatever that usually is.

How Worrisome is this ?

Thanx !!!

I don't know. I've noticed that my hard drive has returned this kind of
info since I started using 10.9.

Maybe something's choking on the "&" in the name?
You could try renaming it and see if it works...

How many files are on it?

Is the progress bar at the end?

If not, try marking the end of the progress with something
non-permanent, and check in an hour whether it has moved.

I've seen some of my large disks with lots of files take hours to
finish. I don't think it's just that there are lots of files, I think
it's that PLUS some other factor.

The Progress Bar is Gone, which makes me think that it's finished ?

Maybe. But no "appears to be OK" message in green, or "unable to
repair" in red or completion message in a color I don't remember?

(check for a scroll bar)

By the way my experience with this is inconsistent. I just did a check
and it again says, "This disk seems to be okay." Or whatever that
less-than-enthusiastic marker is for "not broken".
