#29357 — Re-downloading Lion

I held Option and clicked Purchased in the app store, intending to get
the latest version of Lion. Don't know whether this is a genuine error
or a case of "You can't have that; it's deprecated"

When I click download on Lion, I get "error -13. Please try again
later." Several tries over about an hour; same thing every time.

Also, installing other things from the store is REALLY slow, on two
different Macs.

I was able to download Lion (again) several days after the release of
Mountain Lion, and Apple is still making App Store redemption codes for
Lion and Lion Server available to developers via the Mac developer
portal, therefore the App Store must still be able to deliver Lion.

Probably a short term issue, or possibly a problem on the specific
distributed server that App Store is using from your location.

That also sounds like a location-specific problem.

Update: No complaints on a machine that had Lion already installed by
the previous owner. But still getting the same error on the two
machines where I installed it.

Or @#%^#$^& ComCast throttling my download.

I got the same thing.

Also, clicking on the OS X Lion icon or name brings up an alert that says
"Your Request could not be completed. The item you requested is not
currently available in the U.S. store."

Apparently, anyone who wants to upgrade to Lion, but whose computer can't
run Mountain Lion is SOL unless he can find a Lion installer flash drive on
eBay, Craig's List, etc.

I didn't. I can start downloading another copy of my previously
purchased Lion on other Macs running Lion or Snow Leopard. (I didn't let
it finish downloading as I don't want to waste another 4 GB of
bandwidth.)

I can't download Lion from Mountain Lion, as App Store says there is
already a newer version installed.

Mine is coming from a NZ App Store account, but I'd be very surprised if
Apple had decided to stop distributing Lion via the US store but
continued to do so via the NZ one.

I expect the issue is a temporary problem only affecting some people,
either due to a server issue, or something to do with specific Apple
IDs.

That's normal. The listing page for Lion has been removed because you
can't buy Lion any more. The only way to get Lion (if you hadn't already
purchased it) is via a redemption code, which can apparently be
purchased through Apple Customer Support. (Members of the Mac Developer
Programme can also get a redemption code for Lion.)

Or rings Apple Customer Support and buys Lion for the standard retail
price, just like every previous version of Mac OS X is available by
special order.

Still the same problem here.

Still there today. Click download in the purchases window.
Asks for admin authentication on the Mac.
Then asks for Apple ID authentication.
Then says "We could not complete your request, There was an error in
the app store. Please try again later. (13)

(I incorrectly reported -13 yesterday.)
