With a car you could add the model name, but you still have the problem
of remembering where you included that and where not.

It's common practice to publish maiden names in obituaries. At a former
employer when I wanted a password reset and they asked me for my mother's
date of birth. "How did they know that?" I asked myself. The answer
clicked once I thought about it: they had sponsored me for immigration so
had seen all that info.

I came across a suggestion long ago of using the registration number of
your first car. Who else would know that? Well, mine probably
disappeared off the official records long before computerisation, but it
might be lurking somewhere on a photo or even an insurance company
computer. A long forgotten speeding or parking ticket could have crept
onto a computer too.

When asked that kind of question, I don't put in the actual make of car, that
would be too easy to guess. I put in what I called the car. That kind of info
does not appear on official records. I remember it. My sisters will remember
it, 'cause they were there when the car got the name and know why. Very few
other people know that name.

I have a friend who calls his pickup "Pendejo". Being in Florida, you know
the English translation. Needless to say, he doesn't think much of it's
reliability for transportation...

Pussy Wagon is so 1974 and the reference to your sisters in that regard
is really creepy.

Actually, it was a reference to the make and pedigree. An obscure historical
reference which would make absolutely no sense to anyone who wasn't present
when the name was bestowed.

But, hey, thanks for confirming that you're a dickhead.

You got that right. I apologize when there is something to apologize
for. My joke may have been vulgar and in poor taste, but it was
obviously a joke.

I suggest the pair of you go to a professional knicker de-twister for
urgently needed relief.

And that's no joke.

I don't know what the joke was or to whom it was directed. In
principle, the admission that a joke that was directed at another
person was vulgar and in poor taste would prima facie indicate that an
apology is in order. Or am I once again revealing that I cling to an
outmoded ethos?

He's a Canadian. That explains a LOT.
