Why? You're the only one arguing and you do this same shit over and over again. If you;re incapable of keeping up on Apple news, then either do your own research or don't. But if you shit in one hand and demand that I have an obligation to educate you with the other, see what you have at the end of the day. -- I got a question. If you guys know so much about women, how come you're here at like the Gas 'n' Sip on a Saturday night completely alone drinking beers with no women anywhere?

As has been pointed out to you several times (probably several dozen times on various topics where you claim that there are no facts because you do not consider Apple's statements factual) Apple's numbers are facts. You don't like them, no one cares. Most Macs sold in the last decade (almost all of them) come with SSDs, therefor most Mac users are using SSDs. This is very simple for anyone to understand. Anyone ELSE, evidently. And yes, there are some Mac that do not have SSDs, but the majority of SALES are in the laptops, and those have been 100% SSD for quite a long time, And that majority of sales is overwhelming., not merely 50.01%. -- Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying "End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH," the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Well, I took the consensus advice and turned on FileVault. Problem solved. Thanks for all the advice. It took a few hours for FV to encrypt the 1 TB HD on my iMac and all is fine there. But it's taking forever to encrypt my Time Machine backup external drive- a 1 TB WD USB 3.0 connected via the factory cable to a USB 3 port on the iMac. It's been 52 hours and counting. Gauging by the progress graphic, it's still only about 80% done.
