I would never have guessed a Mac had a "Safe" boot mode.
Maybe that's an Intel era feature, as I don't think my G4 Quad
Nostril (PowerPC) had that.

On 13 Jan 2019, David B. wrote (in article <DVK_D.60$7S2.15@fx08.fr7>): > [ka-snip] Idiot... if you think that there is or ever has been a virus (note carefully, a VIRUS) which was ever in the wild and affected OS X, macOS, whatever Apple calls it this week, please list the CVE ID. Have a look here: https://cve.mitre.org/cve/ and see if they have even one. Then tell me why anyone at all should listen to _you_ when security pros can’t find any viruses for macOS. Note that there _is_ malware for Macs, and such malware _is_ listed. There are trojans, and adware, and spyware, and a few others. There are no, none, zero viruses. None of them. There have never been any for macOS. Never. The adware, trojans, and so on are all of them easily avoided without the need for deploying anti-malware software. The day there are actual, real, serious, malware threats for Macs is the day that there will be lots of screaming on sites like the MITRE site. Not on sites run by anti-malware companies, they have a vested interest in FUD. Some of them (Intego) have made a habit of maximizing the scare factor by saying that they ‘protect’ against a long list of threats, many (most?) of which are no longer threats. Intego used to say that its products protected OS X against Scores and nVIR and wDEF, which was utter bullshit, none if those malware could _run_ on OS X, not even in the Classic environment. And there hasn’t been a Classic environment for a very long time.
