So it's going to be difficult for me to respond, since the fact is that you don't seem to comprehend the fact that my whole point was that it was YouTube Premium _by_ Apple Users that put it in that #4 slot. You appear to completely miscomprehend that chart. I used to try to explain that - but I realize no explanation will work. Sadly... On Mon, 14 Jan 2019 09:14:33 +0000, RJH wrote: > Not really: > https://www.androidauthority.com/dxomark-ranking-troublesome-805633/ Being an adult, and being reasonably intelligent, and logical, I completely comprehend your point that DXOMark isn't the endall of camera tests. However, if you're going to diss a reference, the responsibility is on you to provide a BETTER reference. Which you didn't provide. Since I'm reasonable and logical, I understand WHY you didn't provide it. The simple fact is that there is nothing better. Whether "we" (that's you and me and all logical adults) like it or not, there is nothing better (that I know of). And, what we KNOW is that, historically, the iPhone cameras have been on the bottom of the top ten, for YEARS on end. Every once in a while the iPhone cameras make it to the top five, but are soon surpassed, in almost all (if not all) instances. At this very moment, there are from a dozen, to dozens of Android phone cameras with*better* quality of results than most iPhone cameras (based on that reference - which is the best that we have). The main reason people THINK iPhone cameras are better is because Apple MARKETING is the best of the best of the best of the best, at spewing their dogmatic preachings. Those with the weakest minds, IMHO, always gravitate to such dogma. I'm only asking people with INTELLIGENCE to examine if that dogma is fact. Even your own reference clearly says "DxOMark's testing process is very robust. They test a camera's exposure, color, texture, noise, artifacts, zoom, and others. Scores are given to each element tested, along with an overall score for each camera". We're all ADULTS here (let's hope). We all KNOW that an "overall score" is, in itself, an amalgam of scores. Your reference says it quite clearly - but we already KNOW that fact. I will assume you, like most of us, have evaluated SLRs for decades, where there are PLENTY of great sites that do the same time (and even more detailed) evaluations than DXOMark does. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, they don't comprehensively test phones. Hence, my point to you is that, while an "overall score" is an amalgam of scores, I will repeat two things that are critical if we want to talk facts: 1. DXOMark, even as an amalgam, is just about the best we can find, and, 2. There's nothing stopping us from delving into the individual reports. > I'd also add that different cameras have a range of strengths/weaknesses > - there's no one 'better' for all phone cameras. Being a logical sentient adult with at least average intelligence, I agree with you that each person may weigh different camera characteristics differently. As I noted above, there's nothing stopping us from delving into the individual DXOMark tests, where the individual scores that make up the amalgam are provided. Again, my point is that Apple has DELUDED the masses into "thinking" that iPhone cameras are somehow (magically?) better than Android cameras, where there is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that this is the case in general. In fact, all the evidence points to Apple cameras being on the BOTTOM of the top ten historically (which is still a stellar achievement - but it's not ever the best of the best, in historical terms). All I want is for people to comprehend FACTS. Cold hard facts. What most people spout is Apple MARKETING religious dogma. > And software seems to be increasingly significant, especially at the > high end. So today's 'top' could be overtaken with an improvement in the > app driving the camera. That's an interesting point, where we can assume DXOMark doesn't make use of image-enhancing software... however ... if image-enhancing software exists, why wouldn't it exist on both platforms? That is, either platform (as can Windows/Linux) can take a RAW image file and then "work it" to the users' needs. With that, I dismiss this objection to the DXOMark results as a red herring, but if you disagree, please do so on facts. >> There are currently only two iPhones on this planet that don't have from a >> dozen to many dozens of *better* phones, in terms of quality of camera >> results! >> > > You might like to include the full lineup if you must try to produce a > ranked list. I'm not sure what you're asking me since all I did was visit the DXOMark web page and cut and paste the phones, ordering them showing the number of Android phones that are better than or equal to the Apple phones on the list, based on overall score. As I said many times, and we've proven many times, iPhones tend to be on the top ten list (which is great), but almost always in the BOTTOM of the top ten, which simply means there's almost always plenty of Android cameras that score better on output than iPhone cameras. Currently, there are more than a dozen to dozens of Android phones that have better camera output than do most iPhones. The main point is only that of FACT. Most people who THINK Apple iPhones have great cameras are influence, I think, by the religious dogma spewed by Apple MARKETING. I agree that Apple MARKETING is the best of the best of the best. Bar none. However, I am a person beholden to fact. The fact is that the iPhone cameras are OK, and, in fact, most iPhone cameras are "pretty damn good", but they are almost never the best of the best. I only speak fact. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

"Under weak seasonality, memory earnings fell significantly Q-Q due to weaker-than-expected demand amid inventory adjustments at data-center customers" "Amid a stagnant and fiercely competitive market, mobile profits declined due to increased marketing expenses under strong seasonality and a flat smartphone sales volume." "In the mid to long term, supply and demand dynamics are expected to remain stable as rising technological requirements and capital intensity increase difficulties of expanding supply." Facts nospam. You're so stupid, it seems, that I gave you an "out" by telling you to not even THINK of using Samsung as your example ... simply because we ALREADY PROVED (using facts) that Samsung blamed, clearly, o Memory (mostly due to seasonal inventory adjustments from data centers) o Compeitions (mostly due, surprisingly, to increased MARKETING costs!) You're so utterly fantastically stupid nospam, that you tried to pull that fast one on us, even as I told you that Samsung already has been proven to NOT blame what Apple blamed. HINT: Nobody but Apple is blaming what Apple is blaming. Nobody. Those are facts, nospam. You don't like facts, I know. But the fact you don't like facts doesn't make facts not facts.

Part of the reason, they stated, is that iOS is a "toy" operating system (again, my characterization of their words) where what they literally said is that... o "*iOS has no proper file system*" o "*iOS has no mouse support*" o "*iOS has awkward multitasking*" o "*iOS has a bunch of other issues ... to use it like a laptop*" o "Simple things... are an extremely convoluted process on iOS*" Those are direct quotes from the article. The rationale for making iOS a toy operating system is stated clearly: o "But that's also by design" o "Apple doesn't want the iPad to be a touchscreen Mac tablet" o "Sure, you can use it to work — many people do" o "But you'll potentially have to change your workflow" o "If a laptop is what you want the iPad..[will] fill you with frustration" o "If it's laptop-like features you want Apple's tablet will disappoint" In summary, the iPad Pro is a nice "toy", but it's still a toy because of the astoundingly huge limitations of the operating system, whereas the Surface Pro is, they concluded "the one to go for". Disclaimer: The article is from "Windows Central", so those who cry foul ball will _still_ have to find a review that doesn't essentially characterize iOS as a toy operating system.

Hi sms, This is a very important message ... from me ... to you. He's not actually right but it depends on what _you_ mean by right. o You're using Windows (which happened to have Avast) o I'm using Linux (where Avast doesn't even run) Steve ... (I think you're name is Steve?) ... I have to tell you something. I just had an epitome. A very important epitome. This Avast-sig stuff from Lewis right on top of the calendar ICS export/import stuff from Jolly Roger right on top of the lack of comprehension of Apple statements from Alan Baker stuff, right on top of the denial of what Apple already admitted on throttling iPhone 8 & X stuff, etc., helped me comprehend the brain of the score of what I used to call the canonical Apple Apologist naysayers... Lewis, nospam, Jolly Roger, Alan Baker, Snit, BK, etc. <https://groups.google.com/d/msg/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/mehGxIGcoa8/MoxCZ8XcAwAJ> To "prove" to them that the sig can be added by the VPN service, I decided to point them to this very well tested reliable fact: o Ping Steve Crook & other free server admins: How/why are Avast headers & sig added to these messages? <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/alt.os.linux/a8o3srYBw0U/ijv-OPSnAwAJ> Now, cognizent sentient logical *adults* can read that. And they can comprehend what that thread proves (which is that the VPN provider certainly _can_ add the triple-dash sig). And yet, Jolly Roger & nospam (and the rest of the bunch) will _never_ believe that simple basic obvious well-verified easily proven fact. I used to think this lack of fact processing could only be that o They are incredibly unfathomably stupid, or, o They're just pulling our leg Hence, all this time I've been trying to talk 'sense' to them. o For example, _you_ knew you were using Windows, and, o I _knew_ I'm on Linux (so I *know* they're dead wrong). Or, I belittle them in an attempt to disabuse them of their amusement. *HOWEVER - I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING OF GREAT IMPORT!* o I realized is that no amount of fact will _ever_ get through to them. This is very important so it deserves repeating: *No amount of fact will _ever_ get through to them* It's like explaining to the canonical left-side DK bank robber that the lemon juice didn't actually work and never could have worked. He'd just look at us - and say - "but it worked!" "Dammit. It worked." "It works!" "You lie!" "It works." Do you see, sms, that this means that it's far worse than stupid. And, it's far (far) worse than them simply incessantly pulling our leg. No It's far worse than I could have ever imagined. It turns out, sadly, that no amount of fact will get through to them. They don't possess the adult cognitive skills to process even simple facts. Hence, I've been approaching this all wrong all along. o I've been trying to comprehend why they can't comprehend simple fact. o I've been trying to determine their motive (e.g., amusement?) But the reality is, sadly, they actually _believe_ what they say! That's so shocking that I must repeat it: o *They actually firmly _believe_ what they say!* That's why they so often flatly denounce what is easily shown to be fact. They literally actually firmly _believe_ what they say, is true. Jesus Christ. Lord help us all. These people actually _do_ exist. In spades! There is only one way to deal with these people - and it's not facts. In fact, I've been wasting my time providing them with facts.

How can I keep Avast Security for Linux up to date? Tim Cook, true to his word (surprisingly, given his history), is coming through on price cuts (and some gimmicks) ... As always, I don't talk out of my ass like the Apologists do, so, please see supporting facts below to form your own opinions based on facts. o iPhone XR price cuts continue as another Japanese carrier announces ~$100 discount <https://9to5mac.com/2019/01/24/iphone-xr-price-cuts-continue-as-another-japanese-carrier-announces-100-discount/> "In a press release, SoftBank announced that it is cutting the iPhone XR price by 10,800 yen, which is roughly $100. The price reduction will go into effect next week, starting on January 30th and will be marketed as the 'iPhone XR Happy Price Campaign'." "Reports have indicated that Apple has authorized carriers in Japan to discount the iPhone XR due to lower-than-expected sales." "Meanwhile, iPhones in China have also seen price cuts as high as 20 percent recently." "Apple also continues to run its iPhone XS and iPhone XR trade-in promotions in Japan, which offer discounts on new iPhones with a trade-in of an older model. Just this morning Apple extended the promo until the end of next month." o Apple extends duration of Ąlimited timeĸ iPhone XS/XR trade-in offer in Japan <https://9to5mac.com/2019/01/24/apple-extends-duration-of-limited-time-iphone-xs-xr-trade-in-offer-in-japan/> "Overnight, Apple has extended its iPhone trade-in offer in Japan. Similar to the offer available in the US, international Apple customers can trade in their old iPhone at an Apple Store and get iPhone XS or iPhone XR at a discount." "The US trade-in offer differs from every other country in that customers can receive the boosted value at an Apple retail store or online."
