What it looks like can be skinned and not worth obsessing over, especially if it's support is good. Thanks to benj and his 'friends' you now need a recognized list. Do a Google Groups search, by and large I lately stopped giving him tons of attention (even though I want to). If people start trolling him again I will jump in... as I've always stated I would. I'm referring to advocates here, not benj's friends, who do not enter coalitions. For all the crowing benj's done on this topic, the 'Scripting King' doesn't understand how to do this. It only takes a couple seconds to highlight text and 'orient' it. Yup. Sadly this is what we have to end. Trolls who obviously have no reason for being here other than to attack Steven Petruzzellis. You are reading too much into Apple's use of the word "optimized", which in this case is a generic term which just means the application has not been updated to stop using technology that will be going away soon. Apple has not said anything about 32-bit apps running "less efficiently". What they have said is that macOS High Sierra (10.13.x) is the last version that will run 32-bit applications "without compromise", and that macOS Mojave (10.14.x) is the last version that will run 32-bit applications at all. Apple have not stated what compromises will be encountered when running 32-bit applications in macOS Mojave. I expect it will include more aggressive warnings, and could have a performance impact (not just for the 32-bit application but for the entire system). There could be other compromises. > Most users and most apps may not even notice any difference. > > Reportedly 32-bit apps will not run at all in macOS 10.15, due for > release towards the end of next year. Not "reportedly". Apple specifically said that next year's release of macOS will not run 32-bit applications. It was in the Platforms State of the Union address at WWDC this week (about 20 minutes and 20 seconds into the video if you want to see for yourself). They gave two years warning at last year's WWDC. They will not be backing down from this. Developers have had plenty of notice. Users still running older versions of 32-bit applications will need to upgrade them to newer versions supported by the developer, assuming the developer gets their A into G and updates the application in time for macOS 10.15. If not, the user will need to delay installing macOS 10.15 until the developer releases a compatible version. If a needed 32-bit application has been abandoned by the developer, the user will need to find an alternative, or keep an old Mac to run an older OS, or run an older OS in a VM, or avoid upgrading to macOS 10.15 or later (and by extension not buying a new Mac after late 2019, since they will only run macOS 10.15 or later). -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

Hmm, I don't even see that option in Mac OS' Photos app. :(

Automator / Apple Script perhaps, but not something you'd want to tell an ""illiterate" client" to do. If the Perference option in Photos to import the files into the Library was turned off before the videos were imported, then you could simply open the original video files themsevles with Quicktime Player. Photos might automatically see the newly edited versions (after quitting and re-opening), or you might have to re-import them.

Most posters in this forum do programming either as entertainment or as a job, so I am skeptical more than a few thinks of writing macros to be "witch craft". Idiot. Can you get a little less dense? You do realize that the massive floods ending up in multiple groups started out when Snit Glasser was quoted lying. Pro tip: You can not go into a meet and greet, chug all the liquor, rape all the boys, help oneself to the nicknacks, and puke in the washroom without being loathed. After Steve Petruzzellis's update I no longer want to gouge out my eyeballs from the flicker of the screen. The one skill Snit Glasser learned sufficiently is to try to shame Steve Petruzzellis into submission and if that fails to work, drown him out with flooding or completely change the argument. Valuable content creation will be overwhelmed once those of us here before the eternal September are outnumbered. That, and there will perpetually be a snit thrower or two in an unmoderated group (hint: Snit Glasser). The current crap aside, we've all seen who usually blames others when he doesn't get a catch on his hook. -- Curious how these posts are made? Email: frelwizzen@gmail.com

Ah thanks. I guess it is time to upgrade that OS! ;)

As David said, it won't be there in the older versions of Photos, and I've just realised the topic title states Sierra. :-(

Thanks. I guess it is time to upgrade to Sierra for it. ;-)
