Since we're talking about El Capitan. Did anyone else notice the lack of translucensy during the 10.11 demo yesterday ? No mention it was gone though. But no bragging about all windows being translucent as in the previous keynote.

No, because there was translucency. For example, on rechecking, around 15:50 there is a Finder window that clearly has a translucent sidebar. > No mention it was gone though. El Capitan is not supposed to be making user interface changes (apart from the San Francisco font, which they didn't mention). -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

I hear that one cannot really tell the difference in that font and the Helvetica. Is that all there is?

But, then, I proofread hours at a time, so I'm biased. Substitute one for the other, and it will dramatically change how text wraps in a paragraph. And the new font is decidedly different. I did a test drive of it, and I kind of like it. -- Q: How do you know when <NoBody@nowhere.com> is lying? I haven't seen it up close, but based on paused views of the keynote in HD, there appear to be subtle changes from what I'm used to with Yosemite. I also haven't seen San Francisco on a non-retina display so don't know if it will help with that particular complaint about Yosemite. > Is that all there is? As far as I can see, the font is the only noticeable change to Yosemite user interface elements. (There are also new Chinese and Japanese fonts.) There are many changes in other aspects of El Capitan. See Apple's list at https://www.apple.com/osx/elcapitan-preview/ if you don't feel like watching about half an hour of the keynote. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

OK, but do you wipe, or wash?
Heh.
