Nobody uses a coffee machine these days ... they all go down the road to the coffee shop and pay five times the price for a coffee in a plastic / polsytrene / eco-degradable cup.

For us Californians both beef and almonds are a little too water intensive to be thought of as viable in these times of drought. All over California the beef herds are being thinned out, and feed lots mothballed. Almond groves are also being thinned out. So almond prices are going up, and there is plenty of almond firewood on the market. -- Regards, Savageduck

I'm hoping the climate will be right for almonds up north here. : )

At least you'll have the resources to roast the coffee beans ... even
if you do then have to eat the ground beans raw, without any water or
milk. ;-)

For this rain season we have received less than 10% of the anticipated average, and my pontoon boat has been parked in my driveway for the last 2 years. -- Regards, Savageduck

From 1999 to 2006, I lived in Butte County, between Oroville and Berry
Creek. To get from Oroville to home, I needed to cross a roughly 1 mile
long suspension bridge over the so-called "Middle Fork" of the Feather
River - upstream from the Oroville dam. When I was there, all but about
a hundred feet or so of the bridge was over water for most of the year.
Usually the water was only about 30 feet or so below the bridge deck.
Recently (tail end of february or so) I saw an article about how bad the
California drought is. Accompanying the article was an aerial photo
showing that bridge I used to cross. The only visible water in the
picture was what appeared to be about a 10, maybe 20 foot wide creek
almost centered under the bridge. *WAY* under the bridge. Which tells me
Lake Oroville has to be all but *GONE*.

Yup! I live at Lake Nacimiento, West of Paso Robles, and that is down
to 18%. Our local launch ramp is high and dry as are our docks and
slips.
