It doesn't mean Apple doesn't accept the bank's requests either. So far
you haven't shown a shred of proof to back up your assertion that Apple
strong armed banks into using less information than was needed. And the
fact that most Apple Pay users report their cards provision without
issue shows it's not an issue for most.

Nope. You don't need to know, since you have zero liability in the
matter.

Good luck with that. : )

People in this very thread have provided quotes from Apple stating that
other information is provided. You have chosen to ignore this because it
doesn't support your troll that Apple is not including other
information.

> And how come it doesn't specifically list what iTunes account

Because it's really none of your business, and likely because even the
banks don't want you to know.

Because that allows thieves to deliberately engineer that data.

Ludicrous argument.

Bank: to register card, you need to authenticate yourself with private
information, simular to when you activate physical card.

Thieves know this include date of birth, address, telephone number and
possibly other question such as mother's maiden name.

So, before they steal and database from some store, they will make sure
this database has that information otherwise, that information is
useless to them to be loaded onto a phone.

(Which leaves them to buying porn on the internet since you can spend
money with just a credit card name and not have it delivered anywhere)

In other words, making it clear that there are high standards to
activate a card on Apple Pay will steer thieves away from Apple Pay.

That isn't what that comment was about.

But they don’t know what the bank does to check if that data is valid.

That isn't what was being discussed either.

Not even possible to do that before you steal it.

That's nice. You get to agree to a EULA before adding a card to Apple
Pay. You can read that EULA and decline to participate in Apple Pay or
accept it and participate. If the PIPEDA is so stupid that Apple cannot
send the necessary information to the bank, then Canada will never get
Apple Pay. Simple.

Because you are a moron who cannot read and is taking general
information page as gospel instead of reading ACTUAL documentation that
has been provided to you dozens of times. Also, because you are an
asshole, an Apple-basher, and a liar.

And how come it doesn't specifically list what iTunes account

Data privacy rules. Once company cannot start to divulge my private
information to another company without my consent.

Consent is simple to get.

And if Apple embedded such consent in its 10,000 page "agree" document
there will be questions on whether it is considered actual consent since
nobody reads it.

Apple does have your consent. You give that very
explicitly when you add your card to ApplePay.

They get a LOT more than just that.

But there is with what they actually do get.

They don’t.

They don’t do that either.

That is a lie.

That would be a very STUPID bank indeed given the cost of doing it that way.

That is a bare faced lie.

Please, please, pray tell what additional information does Passport get
from a card after taking a picture of it and doing OCR on it to get the
info ?

I shall repeat the quote from the Apple web site:

http://www.apple.com/iphone-6/apple-pay/

##
Setup is simple. Passbook already stores your boarding passes, tickets,
coupons, and more. Now it can store your credit and debit cards, too. To
get started, you can add the credit or debit card from your iTunes
account to Passbook by simply entering the card security code.

To add a new card on iPhone, use your iSight camera to enter your card
information. Or simply type it in manually. The first card you add
automatically becomes your default payment card, but you can go to
Passbook anytime to pay with a different card or select a new default in
Settings.

That's a marketing web page which doesn't give anywhere near a
definitive or complete list of the information sent to the bank. You're
pretty stupid if you believe that's all the information that is sent.
Stop pretending to be brain dead stupid just to troll. It's lame.

Didn’t say it comes from the card.

Doesn’t say anything about what information Apple sends to the bank.

In fact the other one from Apple says that
a LOT more info than that is sent to the bank.

Irrelevant to what is being discussed.

And you are the only moron on the face of the planet claiming this is
ALL the information that is sent. The only one so stupid as to make up
this complete and utter lie and then claim to believe it.

Oh it's not stupidity. He's trolling, plain and simple. JF Mezei is an
utterly lame troll; but a troll none the less.

Nope, he's nothing like a troll. He just gets the wrong end of
the stick at times, most obviously most recently on the question
of what data Apple gives the bank when someone is adding
a card to ApplePay that has not been used in iTunes. He looks
at what Apple says about how you physically do that and
assumes that Apple is saying that they only send the name,
number and CVV to the bank when in fact Apple says elsewhere
very explicitly instead that they send a lot more than just that
without actually listing in detail what extra data they send
because that would make it easier to fraud the system.

Outside of marketing departments, you may be the only person in the
world who thinks banks have _too little_ information on their customers.

This isn't about what info a bank has on a customer. It is about the
customer authenticaing him/herself sufficiently to confirm he is the one
actiavting a card on Apple Pay.

If banks have to take supplemetary measures such as forcinfg you to
insteall their proprietary apps, then it means that Apple Pay does not
supply sufficient information to allow the bank to authenticate that you
are the rightful owner of the card.
