More correctly, it is 13,700,002,015-03-15 and a handful of hours, a
bucket of minutes and some seconds.
Approximately, seasonally-adjusted, Gregorian.
Possibly later in Darkness Saving Time.

There's no Star Wars Day ("May 4") either ... but it's a small price to
pay for writing dates correctly. :-p

You're already ignoring the first two digits of the year with
"3/14/15", so ignoring a dot doesn't matter.
As someone else pointed out, incorrectly rounding Pi means you guys are
a year early anyway, but pedantically there has only ever been two Pi
Days:
3/14/16 (as in the year 16, nearly 2000 years ago)
and 3/14/1593
and there can never be another one. :-)
(well, unless someone decides to restart the calendar again.)

It's not a matter of ignoring the dot, but of placing it incorrectly.

It possible, but I doubt it, that I've ever seen 3.14.15, but I may have seen 14.3.15. Dates are separated by dashes or slashes. > But even if you haven't, can you not accept that "3.14" is an appropriate > numeric representation to create a fun event like Pi Day? Or you are so > determined to be pedantic that you won't accept any justification for Pi Day? You seem to be very confused. I am not talking about pi day at all, I am talking about your (wrong) assertion that Americans write the date in the format 3.14. -- http://2blog.kreme.com "There will always be women in rubber flirting with me."

I'm sure some Americans do - and your refusal to accept that won't change anything. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. I often ignore posts from Google. In fact, the world's biggest company does, and they're based in America: http://www.apple.com/watch/ Dot-delimited dates are also increasingly popular on movie posters and trailers, especially for edgier films. And, as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, they're being used a lot in phone numbers, too. The belief that all-numeric dates must be written with slashes or hyphens is simply no longer true.

But Americans believe the word "colour" doesn't have a "u" in it ... they're wrong there as well. :-)
