Are there any prognosticators here?

What's TNBT* outta aapl

One idea

The Apple Car!

Yeah you can drive it but it's better just to sit in it, preferably
in a traffic jam. The seats massage, it also offers personal advice
and critiques your driving habits. There's an app to make it
autonomous. You can drive it from your iphone. there's an app to
make it pick up and drop off your children or take the iMac to
the mac repair shop or the dog to the vet

there's no trunk because you could hide stuff in there and that's
wrong

The gas tank holds 3 gallons because any more is extra weight and
dangerous and you can fill it up easily anyway.

*the next big thing

I think it is
people want things simpler not more complex
so I get an McWatch ok and I have an iphone already because i
mean like, omg

Now I have 2 things that need charging and two things to take with me
all the time
it's too much extra hassle for large majority of people they just
don't want to be bothered with it

if it could replace the iphone it'd be a grand slam probably

it's very niche and it surprises me but it says a lot about their
future market spaces and not far future either

It's vastly more simple than accessing the iphone direclty.

I don't think that a large majority of people care that You have 2
things that need charging.

The target buyer for an apple watch already has an iphone.

omg, I guess that means it *appeals* market--like everything else Apple sells.

So when you travel, you need to bring a plug multiplier so that you can
have the lamp, phone and watch plugged in at the same time in the 2 plug
outlet next to bed (when you're lucky, otherwise it is hidden behind bed).

Does the watch's charging cable plug into a USB cable ? Or does it have
its own transformer and plug directly into the wall ?

It also means that if you charge you iToys from a laptop, you need 2 USB
plugs on your laptop to charge phone and watch every night. For new
laptops, you will need to have a hub. And does the laptop have enough
"umph" to charge 2 devices at same time on USB ?

there are usb power adapters that have 2 (or more) ports and there's
almost always a power outlet that isn't behind the bed.

yes

it has an adapter, just like iphones and ipads do, but any usb power
adapter will work.

most do

or just plug it into the wall.

The Apple Watch is charged by induction - simply placing it on the
charging pad.

How the charging pad gets its electricity is probably from the wall
socket since the pad is designed to sit on a bedside table and charge
the Apple Watch at night, but no doubt even if Apple's charging pad
doesn't offer USB charging, other companies will.

Apple was going to use MEMS, but then the "Politically Correct" fools
got involved, demanding female equality and that Apple also used WOMEMS
... but as we all know, WOMEMS isn't generally as strong, so Apple
changed to an inductive charger instead. ;-)

No "charging pad" feature has been described by Apple, but there was a
rumour about a charging pad several months ago (I recall it being
specific to the Apple Watch Edition - the claim was that there was a
charger built into the case in which the watch was supplied).

The Apple Watch is charged via a MagSafe inductive charger which
attaches to the back of the watch. See the detail and picture near the
end of:

http://www.apple.com/watch/technology/

I've seen reports that the other end of the cable is a standard USB
plug. I expect the watch comes with the same charger as an iPhone (or a
lower power variant).

"Pad", "stand", "pod", ... call it whatever you want, it's still
induction charging with no physical plug to connect. The magnet is
there to simply align and keep the watch in the correct place:

"It¹s a completely sealed system free of exposed contacts.
And it¹s very forgiving, requiring no precise alignment.
You simply hold the connector near the back of the watch,
where magnets cause it to snap into place automatically."

True, it's not quite as easy as just plonking the watch down
haphazardly on an actual mousepad-style pad, but it's still easier for
the terminally lazy than having to put a plug in a socket.
