Where's the Vangelis music?

Sure: "your appointment is tomorrow at 1.30p" you have enough context to know that the "p" is actually "pm". But without the context, you don't really know what it means.

In Canada, banks did not wish to imply those machines were replacing bank tellers, so they went out of their way to refer to those as ABM (automated banking machines). But public uses ATM. (Last time I used one of those, it had been such a long time that I forgot the order of operations and really had to read the screen).

I've never used one and don't have an account card that works in them (other than perhaps my credit card at an over-bloated cash fee).
