I wasn't sure *how* that HTTPS Everywhere thing worked, so, thanks for explaining that. What about android central or craigslist forums? You log in, but neither seems to have https to protect your username and password from being swept up. Would a custom rule (whatever that is) in HTTPS Everywhere protect the login credentials on unencrypted forums from snoopers? Would adding VPN to TOR protect them? > You might also want to look at Privacy Badger and MailVelope. I'll check them out, as it seems that we should have encryption whenever we enter login credentials, especially since we are, essentially, forced to re-use them because we have so many to keep track of, so, the loss of one is the loss of many.

How, exactly, do you think that would work? Gosh, this site doesn't have security, but if I enable security on my end, that should protect us both. Do you even think, for even a second, before you post? If security where as simple as you turning it on, then everyone would be 100% secure 100% of the time. > Would adding VPN to TOR protect them? I was swayed by what the description said. The description should have been clearer, but, I understand now, that I can't "add" encryption when it's not there. I guess the only way to do that is to tunnel into an encrypted network, and then do all the connections from that encrypted network. But, I don't have access to one.

There are so many of these ad blockers and tracker blockers, that I'm not sure why we need more than one (sort of like anti-virus programs on Windows). Is there a solution out there that will protect login credentials if you go to a web forum that doesn't have https, such as craigslist or android central?

Of course there are, but MailVelope works nicely with Gmail, has its own version of GPG, and stores its own keys. Maybe there's a backdoor, but ... > > Is there a solution out there that will protect login credentials > if you go to a web forum that doesn't have https, such as craigslist > or android central? Yes - go and use a computer at your library, login via a "secure boot key" and create an identity on those sites that doesn't point back to you or your true email address. Nonsense. Many people are perfectly happy with Pages / Numbers, especially now that they're free with a new computer / OS. Others use other free alterantives. > It must be easy. Huh? It's *easy* to be unique. That's the whole problem. So, for example, let's say you log into "google" mail as "user1". Then, when you travel to China, you log in as "user2". You then travel to Germany and you log in as "user3". You've had three different IP addresses, and three different accounts, yet, since your browser was fingerprinted when you were at home using "user0", all four accounts are one and the same person. What do you mean they can't fingerprint you "individually"? That's the whole point of fingerprinting. It's *easy* to fingerprint you "individually". Just go look at your results in Panopticlick. Mine are unique.
