I have XQuartz installed but have no need for the remote display aspect (so I've never bothered looking up how to do it). The only reason I have XQuartz installed is to use one application for which the Mac port still requires X11: Wireshark. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

(the 0.0 indicates which display on that node if that node runs multiple instances of X. If you quit X server on the "terminal" and restart it, the new instance will be waiting for calls on :0.1 for instance) > The only reason I have XQuartz installed is to use one application for > which the Mac port still requires X11: Wireshark. I often run Wireshark on the Xserve since one of its ethernet ports is connected to the switch where I can assign it to any VLAN and then do the port monitoring for that VLAN despite my workstation/laptop not being on that VLAN.

Thinkpad users usually go to Dunkin Donuts on free refill days! I hate to break it to you, but Dunkin Donuts serves the same crap coffee bean blends as everyone else. People who truly appreciate a good cup of coffee or espresso brew it themselves at home with quality beans that are not only cheaper, but also are fresh roasted and not prepackaged sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. Tons of "real people" wouldn't know a truly good cup of coffee from shit, and the lines in front of Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are proof of that.. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. Here in Austin, there are many "gourmet" coffee roasters who charge up to $20 for a 12oz bag of beans. My wife and I tend to like the Dunkin beans, we grind them ourselves. We are not "hipsters", just retired farts who drink too much coffee at home, requiring more moderately priced coffee. I have to say, Dunkin Donuts coffee is much better than Chock full O' Nuts!
