Read your Old Testament, dude. Oil lamp burning for eight days even
though it only had enough oil for one.day....

Only because someone else was playing a trick on them by adding more
oil each day.

And the Psalms: "Thou hast annointed my keyboard with oil, and afflicted
mine enemies with kernel panics."

It isn't only the Apple Wireless Keyboard that gies inaccurate battery
information. The Magic Trackpad is not any better. Right now, I've been
using my MT for almost a week since I got the warning that my battery
is low. In fact, it's been at 9% for over 4 days now, with a jump to
40% on one of those days. I think I'm going to keep going until the
batteries really run out, to get an idea of how inaccurate the battery
monitoring really is.

Don't know if this matters, but the MT was bought with my mid-2010 iMac
(27", 3.6 GHz i5) It is running Yosemite, but I suspect this has been
an ongoing problem, since I have been wondering why battery life for my
MT was so low ever since I bought the iMac.

I gave my wired chicklet keyboard to a friend who hated the wireless
keyboard that came with her iMac. She had the same problem with battery
life you're seeing. All she did was change them or shut the thing off
when ever she shut down her system. Didn't seem to matter much. And
she used the Coppertop Duracells from CostCo. Switching to Everready
didn't help.

I don't use my Magic Trackpad very much and it still has the batteries I
put in over 2 years ago. But it spends most of it's time OFF.

I'm running 10.8 and my friend is running 10.6.
