(Sucky news client you have there. Not only does it include signatures in
quotes, which is bad behavior for a news client, but it also introduced
silly escape sequences in your posts.)

You're using: PiaoHong Usenet NewsReaders 1.12, and it appears to be a
pretty lame "experience". But then I guess you're used to that, eh?

Or better yet, VirtualBox + a modern.ie VM, which is completely free.

Or, maybe, Virtual box with the Windows 10 open beta.

Yep, that works too. I've got that running here as well.

The Virtual Machine option at http://modern.ie is free.

I just tried it; and all I got for a result was: "Internal Error 10".
Not very useful! : )

Personally, I use <https://www.modern.ie> and it works very well.

(I use the Virtual Machine option, which lets you run IE in a Windows VM
on your Mac right along side your Mac applications. Very handy.)

Thanks, Jolly.

I'm trying your suggestion.

I'm trying to set up Azure Remote App.

I'm not sure if I should accept this 'invitation', which appeared in a
pop-up window:

"Azure Remote App

"Select the invitations you want to accept. Each invitation includes
one or more aps you can connect to remotely.

"Warning: Only accept inviations from people you trust. If you're not
sure about an invitation, check with your system administrator.

"My email address is shown here (tomevans9890@yahoo.ca).

"Then there's a check box next to: Internet Explorer (email:
iewebeco@microsoft.com"

Sorry, I haven't used that option. Again, I use the Virtual Machine
option, which is free and allows you to run IE in Windows in a VM along
side your normal Mac applications.

You're on your on there, though I'm not sure why you wouldn't accept an

Why do you want to quite? There may be other ways of solving problems
you have? Some of us need IE in a serious way because we develop
websites and need to see what that troublesome winapp is doing. What's
your reason?

Having to boot into it you mean, and having no access to the Mac on
the Mac then?

VirtualBox is free and you can run Windows on it and then any win
apps. And have easy access to all things Mac on the same startup.

Why do you want Internet Explorer?

To quote Luke Skywalker: "What a piece of junk", which is why they
stopped making a Mac version.

Reportedly the Windoze versions of Internet Explorer is going to be
killed off anyway and will be replaced by a new Microsloth web browser
... probably just as much of a digusting mess and ignore the
established standards to do things its own way. :-\

I haven't checked recent releases, but some Mac web browsers do have
the option to pretend they are Windoze Internet Explorer. How
successful that is depends on what you trying to do and the website(s)
you visiting - if they insist on stupidities like .NET or some Internet
Explorer-only non-standard idiocy, then no amount of pretending will
help.

WINE is utter garbage and a complete waste of time. Even most of the
applications they claim work, don't actually work properly or fully.

Bootcamp requires rebooting to change which operating system you're
using (Mac OS X, Windoze, Linux, etc.).

VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop will allow your to have a virtual
Windoze PC running alongside Mac applications (and transfer files,
copy-paste, etc. between the two operating systems).

There is VirtualBox and a couple of others, which are shareware /
freeware options similar to Fusion and Desktop, but they are less
professional and more difficult to set-up.

All of these need a legal version of Windoze to be installed (as well
as legal versions of any Windoze applications you want to use).

Presumably to test a web site.

Changing the user agent string is not a good way to test for web site
compatibility.

Setting up VirtualBox is not significantly harder than VMware Fusion or
Parallels Desktop.

Legal versions of VirtualBox VMs are available for free download from
the aforementioned modern.ie web site.
