Can't find the FSOW on iTunes this week. Has Apple ended it-- or am I
just not seeing it?

I hadn't noticed it being gone since most of the music they gave away
was of no interest to me. But now that you've asked, I think it is
gone. Haven't seen it in quite awhile.

It was there through a week or so ago-- featuring the usual mid- to late
December Christmas music.

Rumouredly.

No Black Friday specials, no free song of the week, possibly no free
app of the week ... is Apple getting greedy and just another "big
business" under Cook's leadership. :-(

Heh... Yes, it must be that horrid, greedy Tim Cook's doing! How dare
he?! What an asinine statement. It couldn't possibly have anything to do
with the fact that the target audience simply doesn't appreciate the
gifts Apple and artists give away for free (U2gate anyone?). Could it
possibly be that Apple just realizes that free gifts just aren't good
enough for the foolish entitlement generation that shits on anything
that is not both *free* and *exactly* what *they* want, or they jump
onto their favorite hate wagon? While none of us really know the
reasoning behind the decision, I'm definitely not surprised in the
slightest Apple pulled the plug considering the ungrateful behavior of
so many fools.

(Personally, I never saw the attraction anyway since I'm not into
derivative pop music.)

The only Apple freebies I missed were this year's 12 Days of Christmas
not happening. I thought that was fun and a nice treat from Apple. But
hey - it's not like it ever amounted to much money. It was just fun to
see what each day's gift was - as any gift given is fun to unwrap :-)

> (Personally, I never saw the attraction anyway since I'm not into

Yep - in all the years I've used the iTunes store, only once did the
free song of the week make it into my favourites (that end up in the
playlists I use and to fill my devices). The rest was either utterly
forgettable fluff, or popular dreck. Most I never even bothered to
download after hearing the preview.
