For some reason, michelle@michelle.org is greyed out in the Mailbox/Get
New Mail/michelle@michelle.org menu item. I can't find any way to
activate it. The Online Status submenu says that the account is on
line.

I can get mail one time in the account by making the account inactive
in Mail's Preferences, and then making it active again. To get mail
again later on, I have to do the same thing.

I'm not having any problems getting mail at that account with my iPhone
or iPad.

Any relevant suggestions?

Probably not relevant.

1. Wait a bit. Stuff seems to sort out eventually.
2. Did you renew your domain name?

It's been that way for about 14 hours.

Not in the past year; besides, it's OK with the iDevices.

My holiday miracle happened on Saturday when my cat who managed to
escape the house a month earlier miraculously came home.

I've been allergic to cats my entire life (worse when I was younger),
but didn't let that stop me from having a few. I've lost a few, and
found a few. One cat, one of the biggest Himalayan mixes I've ever seen,
from my childhood, was an outdoor cat who would disappear for a week or
two at a time normally. One day he stopped showing up at home. Then
something like 5 weeks later he appeared with ragged paws at the school
my dad ran at the time! That was a wonderful reunion! No idea how he
found us there, as he had never been there before to our knowledge. My
last pet cat, a male cat, stayed with my mom, first as an in/outdoor
cat. He got into lots of bad fights, until we finally made the decision
to keep him indoors. Then he lived as a strictly indoor cat, which took
some careful watching the first year or two to make sure he didn't dart
out the door. Later, my mom moved to another part of town, and he never
really wanted to go outside again. If he did go outside, it was out the
back door and only for about 10 feet from the door (enough to touch and
eat some grass), just for a few minutes, and he'd be right back in the
house. He lived 16 years and passed away a few years ago. He had a great
happy life, and I miss him!

This is the third time that Smudge managed to sneak out. The first
time, he came sauntering to the front door a few hours later. I think
he was waiting for me to open the door because as soon as I did, there
he was.

The second time, he was found a week later, eight miles away. A
highway patrolman stopped to help a the driver of a disabled car on the
freeway, and the driver told the patrolman there was a cat in bushes
off the shoulder. He saw that the cat was slightly injured, so he took
him to a nearby 24-hour animal hospital, who turned him over to the
county shelter. The shelter checks Craig's list daily, and saw my post
about the missing cat, and recognized the photo. They then contacted
me.

I had him chipped right after he got home, and had the other one
chipped as well.

We had a similar incident some years ago. We were living in rural
Putnam County, NY. Cats were left out and made their returns known by
jmping up on out porch and making noise near our kitchen window. In
anticipation of a trip, my wife was driving animals from home to a
boarder some 6 miles away. She got involved in an auto accident and
the cat she had with her jumped out of the car, not to be found. Some
six months later, our cat, who had not shown up in the interim, did
find her way to the porch again and make her presence known. It was a
loud, tearful, homecoming.
