Unless you have a newsserver that is very slow at transferring messages to the rest of the world, by the time you try to Cancel a post, it has already propogated to other newsservers ... which means all you really achieve is having a pointless "Cancel" messages chasing after the original post from server to server.

It still autocorrects, unless I de-select it each time I'm typing in each message. There is, and then some programs (Safari, Text Edit, Pages, probably
others) ignore what's set in System Preferences, and have their own
switches.

I don't remember feeling that way before I switched to Yosemite. When I go back to Mavericks for my daily work, I don't have that problem. Jeeze... even Windows lets you change the system font. Or, he's not editing out the sig. Not to mention far too many followups
in this thread are not trimming quoted text, at all.
I have my newsreader set to include the sig, just in case I want to say
something about it. It takes less than a second to cut it out...
