Your post caused me to search for that script, to give it a try. Just as I was about to download it, I once again noticed the Google Drive icon go gray - focus got lost somewhere - and then the GD icon (nice name for it) went black again. Following up on my own post. I quit Google Drive just then, then restarted it because I wanted to uncheck the "Start GD when computer starts" option (which is probably what caused it to start up again) and as soon as it started, the focus went bye-bye. It's off for good now. BTW, that script produced a bunch of errors for me. -- JoeWolfDee Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh. --WH Auden

I opened one password, clicked "Copy" and then rclicked and chose "Paste" to paste the password into Google Drive. Worked perfectly, as it has every time I've installed Google Drive since I have *never* typed my current Google password into anything. -- If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

I guess I never tried that before - it wouldn't occur to me to do so: I always use CMD-V. Further, CMD-V works anywhere else you need paste a PW into a Google login as well so a good assumption it should with GD. Moot, however. I'm dumping GD. -- I was born a 1%er - I'm just more equal than the rest.

For example, in the OS wants your admin name and password, you cannot ⌘-V. In every case except the OS asking for a admin password, rclick -> Paste has worked. -- Footnote on the High Energy Magic building: It was here that the thaum, hitherto believed to be the smallest possible particle of magic, was successfully demonstrated to be made up of resons (lit: 'Thing-ies) or reality fragments. Currently research indicates that each reson is itself made up of a combination of at least five 'flavours', known as 'up', 'down', 'sideways', 'sex appeal' and 'peppermint'.

But, if you want to paste into, eg, a network name (name and pw) then both CMD-V and rclick/paste work. Not sure whether to chalk this up to hightened security or just wanting to torture people who use products such as 1Password. -- I was born a 1%er - I'm just more equal than the rest.

Indeed, after posting my post I re-read yours and saw that. The whole thing is an inconsistent mess. Apple should not care how we store our passwords, but urge us to encryption with apps such as 1Password. -- I was born a 1%er - I'm just more equal than the rest.
