I have five Macs on my home network, and I frequently use file sharing
and screen sharing.

File sharing from the Finder "Connect As..." frequently fails to
connect to one of specific MacBook Pros. At the same time, I can share
its screen and I can connect via the "Go > Connect to Server..." menu
item (Cmd-K).

Ideas most welcome.

TIA

Review your firewall settings.

What gets logged in the console/system logs when the "Connect As" method
fails?

I take it you're using the same user name with both methods?
