Is there any significance to the blue halo around the lock in sys prefs
(see link). Only seems to show on TM in SysPrefs.

It just means that the lock icon is the current selection, just as when
the highlight is around a text field or button, that means that item is
the current selection. Keys you press on the keyboard effect the
currently selected item. If you press the Space key on the keyboard,
you'll activate the currently selected button or icon.

Doh! Never noticed it on the lock icon before and it always seems to
come up on the TM in sysprefs (first option I guess).

If you set System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Full Keyboard
Access to "Text boxes and lists only", it won't happen, but then you
lose that functionality.

No issue. It's just that it caught my eye in the TM prefs because it's
the first 'keyboardable' option in there (I think) whereas it isn't in
the others...

It definitely is in Security. I would assume others as well.

Ah, yes; but if you hit the Tab key four times, the lock is highlighted.

Violent agreement. It's only (AFAICS) TM that has the lock halo'd first
- which prompted my question. I don't recall it being so before Mavericks.
