It was Google that trespassed on my private street to photograph my house, and that attempted to break into my wireless networks at the same time. If I /had/ to trust Google or NSA I would choose NSA because I know what their motives are, and they don't involve me. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm

What about the (local) WiFi sync that iTunes implemented a few years ago (if I understood this concept correctly, never used it so far)? If this still available in Mavericks or did they kill that as well? > other stuff does. That's at least something... :-) Best regards, Michael

WiFi syncing is still there, but it has the same limitation as USB syncing: it cannot be used to sync contacts & calendars any more in Mavericks. Other content (music, podcasts, photos, etc.) still sync fine via WiFi. If you want to sync contacts & calendars, you need to use iCloud, Google, an Exchange server, some other CalDAV/CardDAV service, or roll your own server. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

Thanks for the clarification! :-) Michael

What they killed, is the "local synch framework". Regardless if via USB or WiFi. -- In a world without walls and fences, who needs windows and gates?
