learn to prune urls.

the *only* part of that url that's needed is:
<http://ifixit.org/blog/6900/drm-kitty-litter>

the rest is tracking information.

I certainly have, but don't know how to determine if a "tinyurl" is
going to send me off to goatse-land before clicking on it...

As others have correctly indicated, the majority of the URL he posted
(the entire portion from the ? (question mark) character to the end of
the URL) is optional tracking information that may be safely omitted. So
the real URL he wanted to post is short enough on its own:

<http://ifixit.org/blog/6900/drm-kitty-litter/>

Anyhow, see below:

> I certainly have, but don't know how to determine if a "tinyurl" is
> going to send me off to goatse-land before clicking on it...

Even if you don't realize it, you are in full control over this. All you
have to do is add "preview." to the host name. So this:

<http://tinyurl.com/laoxa32>

Becomes this:

<http://preview.tinyurl.com/laoxa32>

As a result of that simple addition, you will see a preview of the
destination URL before you visit it. This is what it looks like:

"Preview of TinyURL.com/laoxa32

This TinyURL redirects to:

	http://ifixit.org/blog/6900/drm-kitty-litter/

Proceed to this site."

Also, on the same page, you can configure tinyURL to enable previews
indefinitely through a cookie that is stored in your web browser, so
that in the future if you visit any tinyURL, you will see a preview
automatically.

Give it a try sometime. It's simple and easy. ; )

You're being stupid.

To be fair, though, it is an off-topic post. So is it so far-fetched
that replies also are not on-topic? ; D
