Sure! Of course, it is foolish of me to venture here on matters of
taste and naturally you would be averse to my going on about good and
bad taste. I suppose I better take another look, you probably
seriously think it is nice. Just a mo...

Nope, it still looks sickeningly kitschy and I am here in a good mood
on yet another paradisiacal day by the sea in Sydney (not guaranteed
so much these days, but the last week has been simply brilliant). The
picture in your url is a whole lot of golden mush.

I recall some people - nospam? - not understanding things which seem
quite natural about photography and art in general in a long ago
discussion way back. It was asserted or implied that modern digital
photography was superior in all important respects to film
photography.

In my view, there was a blindness here to a fundamental: that art is
made from the limitations of a medium as much as from its positive
capacities. The limitations of a brush, a typewriter, a camera, a
stock of paper and chemicals, a violin can be the making of art. Until
this is understood at least vaguely, all the babbling in the world
about the technical capacities of modern camera devices will amount to
nothing deep and fundamental.

Relevance? This: you need a beating heart of a certain kind to know
wtf I am talking about. <g>

So don't.

Please note that the above is the level of brevity you should strive for
as you seem to use an awful lot of keystrokes to say nothing.

Nothing that *you* understand. And since posting your kitsch is highly
irrelevant to anything to do with Macs, take your own advice and
don't.

You already said this. Your juvenile habit of point-scoring is noted.
You seem to have a total inability to know when to accept with grace
an admission by someone you are at loggerheads with. In other words
you are an insensitive prick. That was kitsch and your inability to
see this is particularly consistent with your other insensitivity.

I shudder to think that *you* take so many pictures everyday (as you
mentioned recently) and I will now have you in mind as a particular
case if I ever again restate my oft mentioned opinion that there are
far too many pictures in the world.

Not much to do with *your* penchant for kitsch and for point-scoring!

Btw, no one, and I mean no one, beats me in the race to be *last* in
the kf race. Yes, I know, this is yet another thing your simple mind
doesn't understand.

Here is another that would go past you:

What childish drool is that?

Yes, I see you keep stepping further and further into it and making
your lack of a sense of humour more and more evident. How does one
explain such things to someone like you? I gave you a url to help and
it sails quite past you!

Are your own pics like that kitsch you posted a url to, or is this
unfair? Please stop taking so many pictures! You trying to do a visual
equivalent of a monkey on a typewriter that writes a Shakespeare play?

Look, even if you take so many billion pics every day and somewhere in
there is the greatest photographic exhibition ever, it would take an
impressive feel or judgement, a firm and admirable sense of taste, not
to mention time, to unearth it. Judging by the kitsch you posted, it
does not look good for you! Better to conserve your energies on the
mechanical and devote yourself to strategies to feel more and better.

Thanks for the support Alan. However, we obviously have two different
groups here, some of us have our feet in both, and others are blind to
what each can offer. That also goes for those in the photo-groups who
deny the value of mobile devices, you know who they are.

Since we all hold strong opinions, things get heated from time to time,
and many times that can be due our our blindness to the others POV and
fundamental misunderstandings of the other's position.

Michelle has her supporters here and I guess they will take whatever I
say as hostility towards her That is the furthest from the truth. If
she and her supporters feel slighted by my manner of communication, all
I can do is extend my apologies.
...but I stand by my opinion regarding the issue raised in this thread.

Now for the third time, (the Pacino "Godfather" line comes to mind
here) I am done with this thread.

That's simply nonsense. I'm not a "supporter" or an "opposer" of
Michelle.

She asked you what your opinion was based on. Instead of answering,
you accused her of having pre-conceived notions. I think that was rude
and lowered the tone of discussion. You went on to accuse _Michelle_
of being the one to lower the tone of discussion.

This is unambiguous in the thread, in black and white.

> If

"I'm sorry you you felt slighted by my perfectly justified actions,"
eh?

> ...but I stand by my opinion regarding the issue raised in this

Your opinions about the merits of the images are fine (though you
could have been kind enough to answer queries about what those
opinions were based on).

Your opinions about other people's motivations, and accusations that
they lowered the tone of discussion are insulting.

Three times a charm (actually, I think it has been more than three,
but who is counting).

Michelle has her very good points. One of her weak points however is
using high school debating tactics to defend her point long after it is
lost. She is tenacious.

Declaring that I have lost is not the same as my actually having lost. Oh,
and when I'm proven to be wrong about something, I acknowledge it, unlike
some other people around here.

In this situation, though, there is no "won or lost". It's a matter of a
person posting opinions without explaining the reasons for those opinions.
When I asked for his rationale, he misinterpreted that as a challenge to
his conclusions.

Later on, I did disagree with him about which of the two iPhone renditions
were better, but that was a matter of differing opinions, not a challenge.
