At least I contribute positively to on-topic discussions in these
newsgroups, which cannot be truthfully said about you.

Every time you post, you show yourself to be the child that you are, boy.

Oh, and this is the last message I will post in reply to your infantile
rantings, because you are not worth the effort. In fact, you are simply
worthless, a blight upon humanity.

No loss there. You never address the points I make anyway, much less
even try to refute my assessments. All you do is just get all red-faced,
then rant sophomoric ad hominum attacks against me. So lame.

Bye...

Yup, NPR is the opposite of FOX News. FOX dances to the tune of Roger
Ailes and Rupert Murdoch, echoing their extremist right wing dogma, and
presenting opinion as factual news.

NPR makes a distinction between news and opinion, and has no ideological
biases.

I guess there is one difference besides the obvious reversal: Fox
knows they're biased.

Everyone, except the majority of the Fox audience, knows that Fox is
biased. Only the Fox audience knows that NPR is biased.

The british government manages fairly well with keeping the BBC
independent from government, but still held to some standards. The
government has the power to have some investigation after some
complainst of BBC being biased. However this is not done by politicians.

A political party that is criticised by NPR/PBS is in no position to
complain. What if the criticisms are true ?

The network must keep its independence. Media everywhere play a critical
role in ensuring democracy works, and they do this by uncovering
problems with politicians and their policies.

If one party tends to put its foot in its mouth more often than the
other party, then it can expect more coverage against itself. If a
party is quiet and doesn't generate controversy, it can't expect much
coverage.

Does PBS/NPR have some sort of neutral 3rd party who can investigate
complaints of biased reporting ?

the Log Cabin Republicans don't exactly quietly lead their lives.

It's not a matter of respect; it's a matter of equality.

Why do you use such an obviously socialist construct like insurance in
the first place? If you need health care or car repairs you should just
pay for it yourself, and the not use the resources of others who happen
to patronize the same insurance company as you. Contributing your hard
earned money to a third-party that redistributes it based solely on need
is just so "New Deal"-ish, I'm surprised you participate in it...

Insurance is a capitalist construct. It protects capital investment.
Protects against litigation. It makes huge profits.
